A feast of fine local produce awaits you ... 18 Sep 2006
If the lure of 12 bands, 50 beers and a full programme of entertainment isn''t enough, surely the prospect of some of the very best regional food and drink should get you to the Festival.
Hot roast beef sandwiches and burgers will be served throughout the Festival, sourced from A&J Scotts'' Dexter Pedigree Beef Herd, which is traditionally reared on Sutton Parkland, and grazed on old meadow grasses and herbage which gives the beef its unique flavour.
Kashmiri cuisine is characterised by three different styles of cooking: the Kashmiri Pandit, the Muslims and the Rajput styles. Traditional Kashmiri cooking is called Wazhawan and is rich and aromatic with a wonderful flavour. Rice is the staple food and lamb, goat''s meat and chicken form the basis of many famous dishes. In addition Yasmein and her team will be serving up more conventional curry dishes for hungry festival go-ers, including samosas and the always popular (and vegetarian) spinach and potato curry.
From Crayke, Bluebell Creamery will be serving their fare, and serving up delicious creamy flavoured milkshakes; and Farmhouse Preserves will be there for you to taste some of the best Yorkshire chutneys and jams around. From the Yorkshire Dales, Brymor will be bringing their delicious ice creams.
