A feast of fine local produce awaits you at the Festival 07 Jun 2008
If the lure of bands, beers and a full programme of entertainment isn't enough, surely the prospect of some of the very best regional food and drink should get you to the Festival.
"We're delighted to announce that the Festival of Food will be returning to the Festival this year," announced Mark Tomlinson, organiser, today. "Our aim is to fill the food marquee with a wide range of delicious local produce. In addition to the food marquee there will be catering from local and ethnic suppliers."
Previous Festival go-ers have enjoyed hot roast beef sandwiches from stock traditionally reared on Sutton Parkland, and grazed on old meadow grasses and herbage which gives the beef its unique flavour. Similarly in 2006 we enjoyed the delights of Kashmiri cuisine as well as more conventional curry dishes for hungry festival go-ers, including samosas and the always popular (and vegetarian) spinach and potato curry.
This year we're expecting you to be to taste some of the best Yorkshire chutneys and jams around. From the Yorkshire Dales, delicious ice creams, cheeses, breads and confectionary.
If you're a food producer or caterer and would like to come along please email Mark.
