Take PartBar volunteersWe need around 100 people to help out on the various bars at the festival - it's always great fun and often over-subscribed. Much of the proceeds from Galtres Festival are donated to local charities and community groups, so volunteers' time and energy helps us to raise even more money for good causes. As a bar volunteer you’ll have a tremendously good time working with a great team, and will be proud to be part of a wonderful event. Bar Volunteers Scheme - under this scheme you buy your entry ticket to get into the festival, and sign up to work one or more three-hour shifts - most people do one each day. The work is simple and typically involves pouring pints of beer or cider from barrels or cider boxes, and taking payment from the public in the form of vouchers. No prior experience is needed. If you work the Blondes Bar you'll be using hand-pulls instead of taps (pictured), and the set-up is slightly more technical in the Lager Bar, but there will be supervisors on hand to help with any problems. All bar volunteers are invited to attend the pre-festival beer and cider tasting and judging event - it's a great way to get to know some of the beer and ciders, so you can give 'expert' advice to the public when they ask for a recommendation! All bar volunteers are given a white festival T-shirt to keep, and are also give a book of vouchers worth £17.50 for each 3-hour shift - these may be redeemed for food and drink. We also need bar supervisors - people with experience of running bars in pubs or at festivals.
