Monkey Anna

Monkey Anna is made up of ‘Monkey Anna’ (AKA Anna Brooke), a British singer-songwriter who shares her time between Yorkshire and Paris; and Parisian composer Matthieu Joly, whose funky French touch has already been heard in projects for artists such as Dannii Minogue. This fusion of culture, language and musical influences creates a fun, leftfield sound that BBC Radio York has hailed as “pure unashamed pop music - the funkiest French sounding delights”. On the live side of things, Monkey Anna is about more than just good pop music – it’s a visual experience: Joining forces with French-Canadian film director, Pascal Chind, the group has created the “Monkey Anna TV Dinner Show” – an interactive video concert that sees the public simultaneously become the TV audience and the TV show. At a time when the media films everything everywhere, Monkey Anna draws you through the TV screen into a poptastical world of cupids, rockers, girls in bikinis, and men in baths, to get you poppin’ ‘til the end of the night. |
