TROUBADOUR

24 Aug 2012   22:30 to 23:15

Andy and Mick became Troubadour in 2007 and set about  their musical journey around the North West, Great Britain and beyond, last year performing their first American gigs with three shows in New York City, and a handful of impromptu gigs in California.

In 2010 they recorded their debut studio album, Carnival Town. ‘Shelter’, one of the tracks from Carnival Town, was snapped up by the BBC and used in the drama, ‘Waterloo Road’, aired in early 2011.

Introduced to us by singer songwriter Andy Stones, we invited Troubadour to take part in 'The Arts Barge at The Grand Opera House' event in the summer of 2011.  The Arts Barge Ensemble arranged some of their songs for additional players and they were joined by Christian Topman on double bass, Brian Stafford on Uilleann Pipes, Sarah Dean on harp, The Lennanshees on backing vocals, Nick Walker and Rob Heath on guitar, Sarah Loughran on fiddle, Billy Hinckling on percussion and Paula Ryan on marimba. They also played on The Arts Barge as part of York Festival of The Rivers 2011.

We are really pleased to welcome them back to headline Friday Night in The Arts Barge Tea Tent at Galtres 2012, joined by some of the Arts Barge players.
