This year’s winning beers and ciders were announced at the annual beer-tasting event ‘Quest’, which takes place at Galtres at the start of the festival weekend.
 
Quest was hosted by Matt Calpin from The York Quaffer and Pivni, who provided the guests and Galtres bar staff with his expert guidance. Over 100 drinks were sampled, notes compared and votes tallied.
 
The winners were:
 
Blonde beer - Bizzy Blonde, Walls, Northallerton
Light beer - Doo Lally, Hambleton Ales
IPA - Crimson Rambler, Wharfebank Brewery
Lager - Yorkshire Red, Great Yorkshire Brewery
Dry Cider - Black Dragon, Gwynt y Ddraig, Pontypridd, Wales
Perry - Broadoak, Somerset
Fruit Cider - Fannys Bramble, Sandford Orchard and Glebe Farm Elderflower, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire (joint winners)
Medium Cider - Slideblues, Burnards Cider, Norfolk
