Beers and Ciders

When it comes to this year's beer list, we've really pushed the boat out! Not that we need a boat as we're convinced the sun's going to come out and shine all weekend... but we pushed it anyway. Scroll down for the list so far - lots more to add.

We've got seven or eight porters this year - more interesting stouts too, including the new Chocolate Stout from Rudgate Brewery. More milds and IPAs, quite a few strong ales, and plenty of blondes, pale ales and session bitters.

We're delighted to introduce some new Yorkshire breweries this year too - including Brass Castle from Pocklington, Treeboom from Shipton by Beningbrough, the Pennine Brewery from somewhere near Batley, and The Hop Studio from Elvington, near York.

Our lager bar will be back, run again by the fabulous Mitchell Krause brewery in Cumbria, with a selection of their excellent craft lagers, plus new lagers from other breweries including Cropton and Daleside.

And the massively popular Blondes Bar will be adding to the merriment - complete with silly wigs and a fine selection of chilled golden and blonde ales on hand pull. You won't go thirsty. And you'll be truly spoiled for choice.

And once again we're going to have a dedicated cider and perry marquee absolutely crammed with the stuff - loads of varieties varieties from Ampleforth Abbey Cider from the edge of the Yorkshire Moors, Moorhouse Cider from East Yorkshire, loads of scrummy Janet's Jungle Juice, and lots more from Herefordshire and further south.

All beers, ciders and perries will cost £3.50 / pint, and wine from £3.50 per 175ml glass. Proceeds to local charities.

PS there's an exclusive pre-festival beer and cider tasting and judging event on the Friday lunchtime. If you'd like to come you'll need to sign up as a bar volunteer or as a sponsor. Last year's was fantastic fun - be part of the team and get to taste the beers before the festival even starts!
