Skylark Song
Growing out of a mutual love of warm melodies, close harmonies and the odd natural lyrical reference Skylark Song playing haunting, English folk with a blues edge that is forever lurking somewhere on the periphery.
Over the last three years they have steadily built up a strong live reputation on the North East acoustic scene. Their first demo was met with great success (awarded NARC magazine’s ‘Demo of the month’) and from then they have cemented an army of loyal fans across the North East and further afield.
Their debut album, recorded at Blast Recording Studios, is released this April and follows the release of their first two singles, both met with critical acclaim (their debut single being awarded ‘Single of the month’ in ‘The Crack magazine, July 2013).
Over the years they have supported renowned acts such as Ben Howard, The Travelling Band, Sea of Bees, John Power (of Cast) and more recently, Roddy Woomble (of Idlewild). The band have honed a polished reputation playing festivals such as Cambridge Folk Festival, Willowman, Ingleton Folk Festival, Just So Festival and Jumpin Hot Jamboree.
