FRIDAY 23 TO SUNDAY 25 AUGUST 2013 AT DUNCOMBE PARK, HELMSLEY, NORTH YORKSHIRE
Handmadehands
folk / garage / indie / pop / punk /
Handmadehands were formed by three brothers from West Yorkshire. They released their first album on Bradford's BDeye label last year and are in the process of recording their second album at the community recording studio they set up in Dewsbury.
As well as regularly recording new material, the band enjoy putting on nights which are a little bit special. Their album launch night brought together their love of music and visual arts and incorporated an exhibition by a local artist who created 50 handmade album covers which they sold on a pay what you want basis. They have also put on a number of nights at various venues in Leeds, showcasing music they love.
“handmadehands’ self-titled album is brimming with the band’s diverse musical talent; a slick and well-refined album that layers wonderfully to create a piece of music that resonates on a number of emotional levels…” – Steve Whiting, No-TiTLE Magazine.
“…a startlingly good collection of well written, intelligent songs that speak of the everyday disappointments, ambiguities, frustrations and calamities of modern life.” Steve Walsh, Vibrations magazine
“…every track on it is just fantastic: it’s just such good quality.” – Alan Raw, Raw Talent, BBC Introducing in West Yorkshire.
