![]() Virginia MacnaughtonVirginia recorded her debut album The Music, while signed to a small independent label in London, 1995, produced by Phil Saatchi (Joan Armatrading, Pete Smith), and featuring string arrangements by Oscar-winning composer and Art of Noise founder, Anne Dudley. Levers Pulleys & Engines was recorded and produced in Leeds and released in March 2003. A successful campaign drew substantial coverage in the music press, including glowing reviews in Uncut, Mojo, The Guardian and The Sunday Times. Radio support followed, with Bob Harris play-listing on his R2 show as well as 6music and a live session on Tom Robinson’s 6music show. Bob also selected a track for volume 5 of his own renowned compilation series, “Bob Harris Presents”. |
