The Men They Couldn't Hang

The Men They Couldn't Hang are a British band whose mixture of folk and punk is not dissimilar to that of The Pogues. Their first single, "The Green Fields of France", was released in 1984. Written by Eric Bogle (of "And The Band Played Waltzing Matilda" fame), it received considerable airplay on the John Peel show on BBC Radio 1 and became a big hit on the UK Indie Chart.
Since then they've released ten albums, toured relentlessly, split up and reunited.

They played Galtres Festival 2011 and made such an impression that we've asked them back for 2012...
