Five-times winner of ‘Best Live Band’ at the Radio 2 Awards, Bellowhead have transported folk music into hitherto unknown territory and spearheaded the new folk boom. Since their formation in 2004 Bellowhead have occupied a unique place in Britain’s musical landscape: a blistering 11-piece band fusing folk, funk, rock, world, jazz, music hall and classical music, they have placed themselves at the cutting edge of the contemporary music scene while harnessing all the power and mystery of English and European musical traditions.

Their most recent album ‘Broadside’ entered the UK album charts at number 16, spawned three play-listed singles on BBC Radio 2 and was voted ‘Best Album’ at the 2013 Folk Awards. The second Bellowhead album to be produced by the legendary John Leckie (Stone Roses/Radiohead/Muse), Broadside is poised to achieve silver status, emulating the success of its predecessor, 2010’s ‘Hedonism’ - the highest-selling independently-released traditional folk album of all time which topped fRoots Critics’ Poll for Best Album of 2010 and won Bellowhead Best Group in Songlines 2011 Music Awards.
