Organisers of this year's Forest of Galtres Festival have reserved 1,000 tickets for YO61 residents, which are now on sale at half price.
The sixth Galtres Festival takes place at Crayke over the August Bank Holiday weekend and includes a huge programme of family entertainment with Kings Fair, a beer and cider festival, and 100 bands playing live music on four stages headlined by The Lightning Seeds, The Beat, Dodgy, and The Wonder Stuff.
The reduced price offer for local residents means a family of five can buy a day ticket to the festival for just £30.
"Although our event has grown bigger each year, it's still very much a community event," explained festival director James Houston, who lives at Sutton-on-the-Forest. "We want families who live round here to go along and have a brilliant time, without it costing too much."
Last year's Festival sold out before the gates even opened, and many local people who'd not bought advance tickets were turned away. "We don't want that to happen again," said event manager Hayley Cooke. "But it means people need to get organised and buy their tickets soon before they're all gone."
Tickets can only be bought on this official Festival website - where you'll also find lots of information about the bands playing, the programme for children and young people, the feast of local produce, our tree-planting programme, and lots more.
To get your half price tickets go straight to www.galtresfestival.org.uk/YO61 - but it will only work if both your card address and the delivery address are YO61, and a maximum of 10 tickets per household is available.
The festival will take place at Mosswood Grange, Crayke on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 August. All of the proceeds are donated to local charities and community groups, including St Monica's Hospital and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
