Galtres Festival 2010 continue to provide a high level of support for St Monica’s Hospital and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, but also is hoping to be able to pay for a young cancer sufferer to go on holiday through Impact Young Heroes, and to support the exciting Arts Barge Project in York.

At a meeting last night Trustees worked out how to divide up half of the proceeds from this year's Festival, having received a series of applications from Community Groups.

After the Festival we'll be meeting to choose how to divvy up the rest of the money, although we've already decided to support the Yorkshire Ear Trust and Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.  We’re inviting applications from local charities and organisations for a share of the other half - if you know of any deserving causes please read our policy and submit an application.

As all of the beer and cider is sponsored, every penny you spend on drinks on the day will go directly to the charities, so sup-up! Similarly proceeds from food sales and a percentage of tickets and camping revenue goes straight to the charity pot.

The event is run entirely by a committee of volunteers, supported by an event manager.
