Jim Bower is the singer/songwriter responsible for Leeds-based rock-pop veterans SHATNER, whose second album "Thirteen O''Clock" has recently been released to great critical acclaim. Sadly the rest of the band can't make it to the Galtres Festival but fortunately Jim's "always up for a few beers and a sing song" and will be along with his guitar to play a solo acoustic set comprising some originals, and some covers, but no swearing this time (he promises).

Back to Galtres Festival for the third year running by popular demand, Holly is a wonderful acoustic jazz singer. In the words of a recent reviewer: I've been impressed by Holly Taymar's strong voice and natural stage charm before, but tonight her music matches. She shifts breezily between straight ahead folk and jaunty jazz, she takes domestic vignettes like having sod all to do or a favourite pair of old shoes and makes them thoroughly engaging. 'Indian Sky's' Eastern-tinged picking is stunning.

JiggaWatt is an extraordinarily-talented four piece folk band with members aged just 15 and 16. They consist of Sarah on fiddle, Danny on guitar, Rob on djembe and Josh on bass. They play a lively mix of traditional music, ranging from Irish and English folk to Bluegrass. One of the Galtres Festival organisers came across them busking in York and immediately booked them for an event in Sutton - they went down a storm and we're all really looking forward to their Galtres debut in August.

Acoustic/folk/country from the former Lithium Joe front man, Joe Solo makes a very welcome debut at Galtres 2008. Says Joe: "My first loves these days are folk and country, but I''ve spent so long singing punk that the attitude kinda sticks. I love stories too. I''m in awe of the likes of Shane MacGowan, Tom Waits, Joni Mitchell, Joe Strummer, Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, Steve Earle and Bob Dylan; writers who take the idea of a song lyric into a whole new dimension."
