This year's programme is still being put together, but there' will be loads to do for all the family, from metal bashing to juggling, plus there's a good playpark on this year's site, and lots of space to run around.

Wendy is a professional face-painter, who will occasionally entertain the children with a spot of balloon modelling.

Metal bashing workshop 24 Aug 2008   12:30 to 18:00

A chance to 'bash-out' your own design and make a metal sculpture, using Rick Havely's special metal bashing technique. Rick is our resident community arts expert, back this year for his fourth Galtres Festival.

Kindermusik - music and movement for young children 24 Aug 2008   14:00 to 16:30

Each Kindermusik class is a world of discovery and adventure - you'll witness your child's developmental evolution in language skills, literacy, listening, problem solving, social skills, self-esteem, and musicality. And it happens within a nurturing environment-full of energy, imagination, music, dancing, and playful delight.

Cath's workshops take place today at 2pm, 3pm, and 4pm and each lasts 20 minutes. Numbers are limited- first come, first served.

Storytelling 24 Aug 2008   14:00 to 16:45

Today's storytellers Linda and Tony will weave story, music and song into seamless and compelling narratives. Their tales are full of sly scoundrels, witty women, ninnies and dunces, grannies and princes, twists, turns and impossible coincidences, drawn from the bottomless trove of English and Scottish traditional story.

There will be two sessions today, starting at 2pm and 3pm, each lasting about 40 minutes.

Learn to play the penny whistle 24 Aug 2008   15:00 to 17:45

The penny whistle is a simple, traditional instrument, which is popular in Ireland. It is easy to play and produces a good loud sound, although it can be ear-piercing in the higher notes. It is sometimes known as a tin whistle or a flageolet. Learn to play it at one of today''s workshops, and if you like you can then join a short performance on the main stage.

There will be two sessions today for teangers and adults, starting at 3pm and 5pm, each lasting about 40 minutes.

Workshop: Tholthorpe Unicyclists and Jugglers 24 Aug 2008   15:45 to 16:15

Following their display in the main arena, the band of unicyclists and jugglers will show you how it's all done - so why not join in and try your hand?
