‘Mr Marvolio’s time traveling circus’ is Snickelway Theatre Company’s new festival show for children. It follows the story of a young girl who visits the same, sleepy British sea side town every year for her summer Holiday and considers it the most boring place on earth, that is until this year, when she discovers that the circus has come to town. However, this is no ordinary traveling circus; it has remained physically static for thousands of years, but instead travels in time. In a ridiculous turn of events, it becomes clear that little Pigglington on the sea is not the town that time forgot, but rather the town that has briefly forgotten time, as it is in fact the single most significant location in human History, having hosted the creation of the wheel and first contact with alien life forms.

The play is a farcical comedy, with a fast moving plot and involving many of history’s most famous characters and events. Whilst older children and adults will enjoy the intelligent writing and absurd reinterpretations of history, smaller children will enjoy the colourful, larger than life props and characters, strong circus theming and live music.
