Horse Guards Parade formed in the summer of 2008 and spent the autumn and winter writing and recording songs before they started performing in January 2009. In March 2009 the band self released their first E.P. which was enthusiastically received and played on BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 2 and given a big thumbs up by Steve Lamacq.
This support helped Horse Guards Parade secure more gigs throughout Britain and also record a live radio session for BBC Introducing.
2010 saw the band support Jarvis Cocker and Howe Gelb of Giant Sand and play both The Big Chill Festival and The Reading /Leeds Festival on the BBC Introducing Stage. They were featured on the Simon Mayo show on BBC Radio 5Live and recorded their debut album which was released in April 2011 to fantastic reviews.
During 2011 the band played gigs and festivals all over the UK appeared again on live radio: Marc Rileys Radio 6 show. They toured with Marble Valley and have been writing and recording a new single and album since; the album is due for release this summer.
